On September 13, political consultations were held in Dushanbe between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Tajikistan at the level of heads of structural divisions.
The Armenian delegation was led by the Head of the Department of International Treaties and Law Nelly Saroyan, and the Head of Department of the Eurasian Region Zhirayr Ananyan; the delegation of Tajikistan was headed by the Head of the CIS Countries Department Ahmad Saidmurodzoda, and the Head of the Legal and Treaty Department Parviz Sodiki.
During the consultations, the parties thoroughly reviewed current issues of bilateral relations in political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, and other areas. The counterparts exchanged views on cooperation within the framework of international and regional structures.
The Armenian side also touched upon the “Crossroads of Peace” project initiated by the Government of the Republic of Armenia, which is aimed at ensuring lasting peace and economic development in the South Caucasus region based on the principles of respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.
As part of the consultations, issues related to the inventory and further improvement of the legal framework of Armenian-Tajik relations were also discussed. The sides also reflected upon the wide range of international legal cooperation issues.
