Former Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė, addressed the issue of ensuring Armenia's security in an unstable region during the "Yerevan Dialogue" conference. According to her, the best way to achieve this is by enhancing resilience.
"In decision-making, our guiding principles have always been our future, our statehood, freedom, and independence. These have directed us in choosing our friends, deciding whom to cooperate with, and determining which path to take," Grybauskaitė said.
She added that Lithuania and Armenia are similar countries, with nearly the same resources and population. The former Lithuanian president noted that over the past thirty years, her country has managed to reach European standards and to fully cut its dependence on Russian gas. She emphasized that political independence can only be based on economic and energy independence.
