"We don't choose our neighbors, but we do choose our partners," said Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Xavier Bettel, speaking at the "Yerevan Dialogue" conference.
Referring to the possibility of cooperation between South Caucasus countries, Bettel presented Luxembourg's cooperation example within the framework of the Benelux Union with Belgium and the Netherlands.
“We realized that having joint projects is actually the best peace project. We started with the Benelux. We have a regional parliament. And during my conversations in Yerevan yesterday, I suggested considering an initiative to organize discussions with the parliamentarians of Georgia, Azerbaijan, and other regional countries, including Turkey and Iran, to address cross-border issues,” said the official.
Bettel also touched on Armenia's European prospects, noting that Yerevan deserves the European Union’s attention and support.
