The presence of the EU mission in Armenia is an issue to be discussed between Armenia and the EU. Sargis Khandanyan, Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, said this during a briefing in the Parliament, responding to the observation of the Azerbaijani side that European observers should leave Armenia within the framework of the peace treaty signing process.
"EU observers are stationed on the territory of Armenia and monitor the Armenian side of the border, so Armenia and the EU must decide when, for how long, and with what personnel the EU observers should be present.
Once the peace treaty is signed, once the delimitation process is completed, and there is regional peace, it may be logical that monitoring is no longer necessary. But at the moment, this issue is not under discussion," he said.
