The purpose of the protocol on Termination of Multilateral Treaties signed within the framework of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) signed on December 1, 2000 is the inventory of the CIS legal-contractual base. The issue was debated at September 4 sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations.
The parties state the termination of treaties enumerated in the first appendix of the document due to the expiration of the validity period and the conclusion of further contracts. In the second appendix of the protocol the enumerated treaties terminate to operate from the day of the protocol entering into force in the relations between the states participating in those treaties. The RA Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan presented the main regulations.
The protocol was signed by Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
The key rapporteur, the member of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Hripsime Grigoryan called on her colleagues to vote for the draft law.
The Committee endorsed the document.
