A railway accident occurred on the Didube-Avchala section in Tbilisi, resulting in the deaths of two employees of Georgian Railways who were performing scheduled work, Georgian Public Broadcaster repots.
According to Georgian Railways, the incident involved a train travelling in the Batumi-Tbilisi direction, which has been stopped. No passengers on the train were injured.
Georgian Railways has expressed deep sorrow over the accident and extended condolences to the families of the deceased employees.
A probe has been launched to ascertain the precise details of the incident. Forensic experts are currently conducting thorough investigative procedures at the scene. Upon completion of the preliminary inquiry, the Batumi-Tbilisi train will be transported to Tbilisi Central Station for further examination and analysis.
