Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, speaking at a meeting with students of the Moscow State University of International Relations, touched on the topic of unblocking regional communications and once again blamed the Armenian side for not fulfilling the agreements.
"If the authorities of Armenia, without the participation of Russia, conduct direct negotiations with Azerbaijan on the restoration of transport communication, then, for God's sake, let them do it," said the diplomat.
According to him, Moscow is worried that the trilateral agreements signed at several summits of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan in 2020-2022 have weakened. Lavrov also noted that Russia should consult with the participants of this process regarding the delimitation of the state border, but this is not happening.
"No, they don't want and at the same time they constantly seek to involve the West, the USA, the European Union, Paris, it's their choice, but it is necessary to negotiate, first of all, with the Azerbaijani neighbors, there is no other way," Lavrov added.
At the same time, according to him, "with all the differences and contradictions", Russia and its partners "understand who stands for what and for what purpose".
