Armenia appreciates the support of all international partners in the peace process, Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a press conference today.
On the other hand, he said, the work work with Azerbaijan has long been taking place in bilateral format.
“The format has been effective, staring from the joint statement last December, to April 19, 2024 and the Regulation on joint activity of border commissions signed on the eve,” Pashinyan said.
“The common understanding is that we are working in bilateral format at the moment, and as long as we succeed in moving forward along this path, I think the format is the correct one. I said this to the Russian President directly and sincerely during our latest phone call,” the Prime Minister stated.
At the same time he did not rule out work in any different format with the understanding that every single case should be considered in the context of a concrete timeframe.
Pashinyan reminded that during the European Political Community Summit in UK, there was an attempt to create an impression that Armenia denied a meeting with the Azerbaijani side.
“The Republic of Armenia has not refused from a meeting. Through diplomatic channels I have offered Azerbaijan’s President to meet in a bilateral format.
I think we can keep moving forward in this logic as it is effective at the moment. When the time matures for a high-level meeting, it can take place on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border,” the Prime Minister said, not ruling out any other format.
