On August 29, the Armenia’s National Assembly President Alen Simonyan received the delegation led by the President of the House of Representatives of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay Ana Olivera, who is on an official visit to Armenia, parliament’s press office reports. Expressing his gratitude for the visit to Armenia, Alen Simonyan underlined the importance of such visits from the viewpoint of the development of bilateral relations and noted that the Armenian side highly appreciates Uruguay's position on sensitive topics concerning the Armenian people and its regular support.
The RA NA President presented Ana Olivera the process of the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, gave some details about the negotiation process and the Crossroads of Peace project. Armenia-Uruguay relations and various issues of bilateral interest were also at the core of the discussions.
The President of the House of Representatives of Uruguay expressed deep gratitude for the warm welcome and underscored that Uruguay attaches great importance to the development of relations between the two countries.
Ana Olivera also visited the session hall of the National Assembly and left a note in the register of the RA NA Honorary Guests.
