The head of the Migration and Citizenship Service of Armenia, Armen Ghazaryan, has addressed the topic of Armenia-EU visa liberalization, making several important points in this regard, the service informs. These points are as follows:

A system with new solutions will be introduced in the near future.

The country must have a stable, safe, and secure system of documents carrying biometric data.

Biometric devices used in previous documents are no longer produced in the world.

Even the asylum applications of Armenian citizens who ended up in European Union countries legally have no real grounds.

Ninety-six percent and more of asylum applications submitted by Armenian citizens are rejected.

The highest number of asylum applications from Armenia in EU member countries was recorded in 2016, with more than 8,000 applications, and the lowest figure was in 2020, with about 1,200 applications.

The possibility to visit European countries without a visa will arise when the end of the visa liberalization dialogue is near.
