Ukraine is preparing a response to today's massive Russian shelling, which killed and injured civilians, says Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov on Facebook.
“Russia struck our cities again overnight. Civilians were injured, homes were destroyed, and critical infrastructure was damaged,” he said.
The minister adds this is another proof of Ukraine's need to have long-range capabilities and to lift restrictions on strikes on Russian military targets.
“Ukraine is preparing its responses. Weapons of our own production,” Umerov said.
The Russian army launched a massive air attack on Ukraine, using dozens of missiles and drones. The shelling caused power outages in several Ukrainian cities, resulting in water cutoffs.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia had fired more than a hundred missiles of various types and about a hundred Shahed drones at Ukraine.
