In August, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross visited Armenians held in prison in Baku. Zara Amatuni, responsible for the communication programs of the structure's Armenian office, told 'Lurer' details about it.
"During the month of August, ICRC representatives once again visited all the detained Armenians in Baku and, according to the procedures, assessed their conditions of detention, their health condition, and the attitude towards them," she said and added that through the ICRC delegates, everyone was given the opportunity to contact with their relatives.
Zara Amatuni also emphasized that the ICRC follows all publications related to persons detained in Baku.
"As of today, the International Committee of the Red Cross is the only one of the international organizations or other structures that has the opportunity to visit these persons. Therefore, we are aware of all considerations or questions regarding the conditions of detention of these persons. Without making the matter public, I must mention that these considerations are discussed with the immediate authorities, but this is done in a confidential format, which does not imply any publication that comes to light after that," she said.
