Georgian Dream is not going to remove the article on integration into the European Union and NATO from the Constitution, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced during the briefing.
Earlier, Georgian Dream and party leader Bidzina Ivanishvili stated that they need to get a constitutional majority in the future parliament, citing several reasons why it is important for the country. In addition to Mikheil Saakashvili's United National Movement party and the ban on LGBT propaganda, we are talking about amendments to the Constitution related to the territorial integrity of the country.
"I can definitely say that it is not about removing Article 78 from the Constitution or amending that article, but about something else, which we will talk about later, if the relevant consultations are successfully completed," said Kobakhidze.
Kobakhidze did not answer the journalist's question whether it was about changing the state's management system, urging to wait for the end of the consultations.
