Russia will be happy if it can do something to sign a peace treaty and demarcate the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia. This was stated by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, before the narrow-format negotiations with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
"If we can do something so that a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia is signed, the issue of border delimitation and demarcation is resolved, communications and economic ties are unblocked, we will be very happy about it," said the Russian President.
Putin noted that he is aware that Azerbaijan aims to complete all procedures and achieve full settlement.
The Russian President also said that Moscow is ready to participate in the settlement between Baku and Yerevan to the extent that both sides want.
"Everyone knows well that Russia is also facing crises, including, first of all, in the direction of Ukraine. However, Russia's historical involvement in the South Caucasus emphasizes the need for our participation in the events here, of course, to the extent that the parties want it," said Putin.
