After the signing of documents between Azerbaijan and Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin made a statement to the press.
"During the negotiations, we thoroughly discussed a wide range of issues. New problems for the further dynamic development of bilateral relations are recorded in the adopted joint statement. The documents signed today will also contribute to their solution.
During the negotiations, great attention was paid to the expansion of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation. Russia and Azerbaijan are important economic partners for each other. Russia is one of the biggest investors in the Azerbaijani economy, and we are only happy about it," Vladimir Putin stressed.
He noted that the Russian companies LUKOIL, KAMAZ, SOLLERS, VAZ are quite "comfortable" in the Azerbaijani market. They work successfully and there are prospects for development.
The Russian President emphasized that the current state of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia was not ignored during the negotiations.
"Russia will continue to contribute in every possible way to the regulation of Azerbaijani-Armenian cooperation and the conclusion of a peace treaty based on the trilateral agreements of the presidents of Russia, Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia in 2020-2022. We are also ready to support the delimitation and demarcation of the border, bearing in mind that we have the relevant documents from the Soviet period, as well as the unblocking of cross-border routes and the establishment of humanitarian ties. We proceed from the fact that lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus fully correspond to the fundamental interests of all states and peoples of this region," said the Russian President.
