Reuters. Hezbollah's response to Israeli attacks will be "strong and effective" Hezbollah's chief leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said on Tuesday (August 6), as he spoke in a televised speech marking the one-week memorial of the group's top military commander Fuad Shukr.
Nasrallah said Hezbollah would wait for the right moment to respond but did not hint on its form or timing, as Hezbollah supporters chanted during his speech.
"In Lebanon, we are very keen for our people, our country, the security of our country, and its infrastructure, so that not many people would be affected, and we bear this burden directly, especially our immediate and private environment," added Nasrallah.
Just before his speech began, Israeli warplanes swooped low over the Lebanese capital, setting off a series of sonic booms that rattled windows across the city and sent people ducking for cover.
There was no comment from the Israeli military.
