In response to a question from "Lurer," (Armenian Public TV’s News Channel) the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson addressed the statement made by Elchin Amirbekov, Azerbaijani President's special envoy, in an interview with "Azatutyun". Amirbekov claimed that Armenia and Azerbaijan mutually agreed to remove the article concerning regional communications from the peace treaty and to return to it later.
Ani Badalyan clarified:
"By noting that the article related to regional communications has been removed from the draft of the main peace agreement by mutual consent, we should emphasize that their effective unblocking remains an essential part of Armenia's vision and the advancing agenda for peace and economic development in the region".
According to Badalyan, this is best reflected in the "Crossroads of Peace" program presented by the Armenian government, based on well-known principles of respect for sovereignty and jurisdiction, as well as reciprocity and equality.
