Reuters/CCTV. Mali immediately severed diplomatic ties with Ukraine after a Ukrainian spokesperson acknowledged the country's "apparent aggression" against Mali, the transitional government of Mali announced in a communique on Sunday.
The communique said that the transitional government of Mali has noted relevant comments by spokesperson Andriy Yusov for Ukraine's military intelligence agency, which acknowledged Ukraine's involvement in the attack by armed terrorist groups, resulting in the deaths of members of the Malian defense and security forces in northeastern Mali in late July.
The communique said the Ukrainian authorities' actions "violated the sovereignty of Mali, went beyond the scope of foreign interference, and constituted a clear aggression against Mali," and so the "transitional government of Mali decides to immediately cut diplomatic ties with Ukraine".
