Baku expects an apology from Paris for the "unacceptable expressions" made on the France-2 TV channel, said Aykhan Hajizada press secretary of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
He said that the International Olympic Committee has already responded to Azerbaijan's official letter of protest and apologized.
Hajizada noted that a campaign of slander is being carried out against Azerbaijan.
"From this point of view, we expect that country to apologize, because the responsible party is, first of all, France, the host of the Olympic Games, and we demand that such steps against Azerbaijan are not repeated in the future," said Hajizada.
