On July 29, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Togo. The consultations were led by the Head of the Middle East and Africa Department of the MFA of Armenia Arsen Arakelyan and Director of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Togolese Abroad Malemda Kamele.
International and regional issues were discussed during the consultations. The parties touched upon a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, including the cooperation of the both countries in trade and economy, high technologies, education, science, culture, protection of cultural heritage and other spheres.
Both sides expressed readiness to expand the political dialogue, strengthen the bilateral legal framework, as well as conduct bilateral high-level visits. The importance of expanding cooperation and mutual support on international platforms was underscored.
The delegation was also received by Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan. The Deputy Minister presented the security situation in the South Caucasus region and the efforts of Armenia aimed at strengthening peace and security in the region. At the meeting, the cooperation priorities of Armenia with the countries of the African region were also touched upon.
