French President Emmanuel Macron proposed a "political truce" to the parties during the Olympic Games, noting that at the moment attention should be focused on sports, not politics.
The President noted that the dissolution of the National Assembly in June did not negatively affect the games, for which the opposition and the municipality accused him earlier.
"This is a kind of 'ceasefire'," he said, without specifying whether that meant he would not appoint a new prime minister until after the Olympics and Paralympics.
