Armenia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Greece Tigran Mkrtchyan met with Ioannis Papageorgiou, Coordinator of the Greek Prime Minister’s Office in Thessaloniki.
Ambassador Mkrtchyan referred to the working visit of the Armenian Prime Minister to Greece in February, and the progress of the implementation of the agreements reached as a result of the meeting of the two leaders.
The Armenian Ambassador presented the main challenges of Armenia’s foreign policy, the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative, the current stage of the settlement processes with Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Ioannis Papageorgiou, for his part, emphasized that relations with Armenia and the Armenian people are of special importance for Greece and noted the centuries-old presence of the Armenian community in Thessaloniki and its important role in all spheres of city life.
The interlocutors discussed a number of initiatives related to the development of bilateral relations.
