We are witnessing historical changes in the South Caucasus, the President of Azerbaijan announced at the Shushi Global Media Forum. Ilham Aliyev noted that traditional alliances have weakened and new forms of cooperation have emerged.
"Geopolitical changes are taking place in the region. Enough of the conflicts and confrontations," he added.
Aliyev referred to Baku-Moscow relations and emphasized that it has been a long time since all issues in bilateral relations with Russia have been resolved.
"Even before the signing of the declaration on allied cooperation, we settled all issues on the basis of mutual understanding, mutual respect, taking into account mutual interests and the centuries-old history of relations between our peoples," explained the President of Azerbaijan.
He expressed his satisfaction that recently the meetings at the highest level have become more intense. Aliyev informed that they will continue in the same spirit, because there is a lot to discuss with the Russian side.
The President of Azerbaijan also stated that his country conducts an independent foreign policy, develops relations with partners and regional countries, ignoring rumors, including statements from the European Parliament or the Council of Europe.
