On July 18, the Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the RA National Assembly Sargis Khandanyan received the delegation led by the Director General of Political and Strategic Affairs of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania Gazmend Barbullushi.
Welcoming the guests, Sargis Khandanyan emphasized the deepening of cooperation between Armenia and Albania, the development of inter-parliamentary ties.
Touching upon the expanding agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership, the Committee Chair appreciated the start of the dialogue on the visa liberalization to the EU countries. Sargis Khandanyan underscored that Albania is one of the few European countries where the RA citizens can travel without a visa. It was noted that due to this circumstance, the number of Armenian tourists going to Albania has increased recently.
At the meeting, Sargis Khandanyan presented to the Albanian diplomats the security situation prevailing in our country, the challenges, and talked about the processes of normalization of relations with Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
Expressing his gratitude for the reception, the General Director of Political and Strategic Affairs of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania expressed his willingness to contribute to the development of cooperation in various fields within the scope of his powers. Gazmend Barbullushi agreed that it is necessary to strengthen the inter-parliamentary relations of the two countries.
