The National Council of Democratic Forces of Azerbaijan announced that it supports the decision of the People's Front Party to boycott the extraordinary parliamentary elections.
The National Council noted that the institution of elections in Azerbaijan was undermined as a result of Ilham Aliyev's purposeful policy, and called on citizens not to participate in the snap parliamentary elections to be held on September 1.
"The National Council considers the September 1 elections not an election, but a cheap performance, the outcome of which is predetermined and planned according to Ilham Aliyev's personal wishes, and considers participation in the election unnecessary and harmful from the point of view of national interests," the adopted document says.
