On July 16, Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan met with Uzra Zeya, U.S. Undersecretary of State for Civil Security, Democracy and Human Rights. The press service of the Security Council reports.
Touching upon the assassination attempt on President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania, the Secretary of the Security Council expressed condolences to the family of the deceased, as well as wished a speedy recovery to the wounded. Grigoryan emphasized the unacceptability of any manifestation of violence.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the process of democratic reforms being implemented in Armenia, highlighting the successes already achieved in the police system, the sphere of justice, and the fight against corruption. In the context of the above-mentioned and a number of other spheres, they touched upon the Armenia-US bilateral cooperation, within the framework of which the Secretary of the RA Security Council emphasized the importance of the US support to the development of Armenia's democratic institutions.
