The newly elected President of Iran published an article entitled 'My message to the new world'. Masoud Pezeshkian assured that his administration will give priority to strengthening relations and cooperation with neighbors for the sake of the prosperity of the region.
"We will conduct a policy based on opportunities, maintaining a balance in our relations with all countries, which is consistent with our national interests, economic development, regional and global peace and security requirements," Masoud Pezeshkian said. He added that his team will fight for the creation of a "strong region".
"I am convinced that neighboring and brotherly nations should not waste their resources on a corrosive arms race or restraining each other. Instead, they should be directed to the progress of the region," Pezeshkian emphasized.
He noted that China and Russia have stood by Iran in difficult times, and Tehran will remain committed to expanding cooperation with those countries. Pezeshkian also assured that his administration is ready to contribute to the peaceful settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
President Pezeshkian also emphasized relations with the West. "I am also looking forward to constructive dialogue with European countries to put our relations on the right track. They should realize that the rights and dignity of Iranians can no longer be ignored," Pezeshkian emphasized. The President of Iran referred to Tehran-Washington relations and noted that his country's defense doctrine does not include nuclear weapons. "I call on the United States to learn from past mistakes and adjust its policy," the official stressed.
He also stated that Tehran will urge neighboring Arab countries to cooperate and use political and diplomatic leverage to achieve a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
