There is still no consensus in NATO on inviting Kyiv to join the alliance, said White House representative Michael Carpenter.
"NATO's command is responsible for supporting Ukraine, including in military training, coordination, and logistical support, which will serve as a bridge for Ukraine's membership in the alliance when the political will arises," he elaborated during a briefing with journalists.
At the same time, a spokesperson for the U.S. State Department stated that Washington's position is clear: Ukraine’s future is in NATO.
Matthew Miller noted that a number of announcements will be made following the summit in Washington, focusing on military, diplomatic, and economic support. "We will continue to work to bring Kyiv closer to NATO more effectively," added the official.
