Armenia celebrates the Constitution Day today. The Mother Law is already 29 years old.
On July 5, 1995, the draft Basic Law of the country was submitted to a popular referendum. It was the first Constitution of independent Armenia, which enshrined the foundations of a free, independent and democratic Armenia.
In 2005, again with a referendum, the Mother Law was amended and supplemented, the powers of the parliament were expanded.
And with the 2015 constitutional amendment referendum, our country transitioned to a parliamentary government system.
