The Georgian Ministry of Defense has responded to the recent announcement by the US Department of Defense regarding the indefinite postponement of the Noble Partner multinational exercise, Georgian Public Broadcaster reports.
The Ministry expressed regret over the decision, emphasizing the mutual benefits such international exercises provide for both Georgia and the United States, as well as for other participating partner countries.
“The United States and Georgia have a decades-long partnership in the field of defense, which is based on the common interests and goals of our countries.
The announcement by the United States Department of Defense regarding the indefinite postponement of the multinational exercise Noble Partner 2024 is regrettable.
International exercises, including Noble Partner 2024, are beneficial to both Georgia and the United States of America, as well as the partner countries participating in them, as they contribute to strengthening defense capabilities, developing the skills of military personnel, increasing professionalism, and enhancing interoperability.
The US Department of Defense and the Ministry of Defense of Georgia maintain mutually beneficial cooperation formats in the field of defense and security.
Despite the postponement of the exercise, the aforementioned cooperation formats continue, including preparations for the multinational training Agile Spirit 2025,” the statement said.
The US Department of Defense issued a statement today, indicating that, as part of a comprehensive review of the US–Georgia bilateral relations, the US will indefinitely postpone the Noble Partner exercise in Georgia.
