The Russian side is not in favor of a ceasefire, but in favor of a complete end to the conflict in Ukraine, President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, said during a statement to the press after the negotiations with the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban.
He noted that the proposals he presented earlier on the settlement of the conflict allow to stop military operations and start negotiations.
"It should not be a ceasefire or a temporary ceasefire that the Kiev regime can use to recover losses, regroup and arm. Russia advocates a complete and final end to the conflict. Its conditions are outlined in my speech at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," Putin said.
According to him, "Kiev refuses the ceasefire because it does not want to end the martial law regime. In that case, a presidential election should be held." Putin expressed his opinion that the chances of the current authorities of Ukraine are zero.
The President of the Russian Federation stated that the Ukrainian troops should be withdrawn from the regions of Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporizhia and Kherson.
