Armenia's President Vahagn Khachaturyan sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of Constitution Day.
“Dear compatriots, I congratulate all of us on the occasion of the Constitution Day of the Republic of Armenia.
The foundational provisions for the establishment and strength of states are few and often lead to the declaration of Independence and adoption of the Constitution. From this point of view, both the September 21, 1991 Independence and the July 5, 1995 Constitutional referendums were expressions of the collective will of the Armenian people to have an independent, sovereign, social and developing state.
During the past three decades, our Constitution has overcome many obstacles, changes and also encroachments, and this is where the essence of the Constitution lies, because it is not a collective document of norms or definitions, formulations and statements, but written and written for the harmony and coexistence of state-society-citizen relations. the Mother Law guaranteeing the unwritten rules.
At the same time, the Constitution is not a declaration of one-time fixing, but a flexible and multi-content instrument that balances the wings of power, reforms implemented in the country, current developments, social and political transition, as it is customary to say, staying in the constitutional course.
In this sense, all the citizens of the Republic of Armenia, and in particular the state officials, should have as a starting point in their activities the very idea of constitutionality, which acts as an orientation, as a guide on the way to build the Armenia of our dreams and aspirations.
Once again, I congratulate all of us on the occasion of the most important holiday of our statehood, I wish endurance and strength, development, strength and prosperity to the Republic of Armenia,” the message reads.
