Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the congressional delegation led by US Senator Roger Wicker.
The Prime Minister welcomed the congressmen's visit to Armenia and expressed his satisfaction with the dynamic development of Armenia-US relations. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the importance of the recently held Armenia-US strategic dialogue session in Yerevan and expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation will continue to develop and strengthen. The Prime Minister noted that the USA provides effective support for the promotion of democratic reforms in our country, adding that the development of democracy is of strategic importance for the Armenian government.
The interlocutors emphasized the expansion and deepening of relations between the two countries in political, economic, energy and other directions, and in this regard emphasized the need for an active inter-governmental and inter-parliamentary dialogue.
Reference was made to the steps taken by the Armenian government in the direction of the development of democratic institutions in Armenia and the fight against corruption. The sides exchanged ideas on the ongoing discussions on the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the "Crossroads of Peace" project of the Armenian government, the processes taking place in the region and other issues of mutual interest.
