The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, and the Slovenian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Tanja Fajon, discussed the bilateral agenda and regional issues.
According to the readout issued by the foreign ministry, they emphasized the need to maintain continuity of dialogue on key mutual interests and upcoming events.
Views were exchanged on regional security issues, given the fact that Slovenia is currently a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. Minister Mirzoyan presented the latest developments in the process of regulating relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, emphasizing the importance of concluding a peace treaty.
Minister Mirzoyan expressed gratitude for Slovenia hosting displaced children from Nagorno-Karabakh for the third time this year under a support program.
In the context of the Middle East situation, the ministers mentioned Slovenia and Armenia's recognition of the State of Palestine within the past month, in accordance with the principle of "two states."
