On June 29, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with the Vice President of the European Commission, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Dubrovnik Forum.
The Armenia-EU partnership agenda, steps undertaken to deepen relations, and the prospects were touched upon. In this context, the interlocutors stressed the importance of strengthening the resilience of Armenia through the application of existing mechanisms, as well as the launch of the visa liberalization dialogue.
The interlocutors exchanged views on international and regional security issues. The negative consequences of the practice of resolving issues through the use of force as well as the need to respect the fundamental principles of international law were emphasized.
In the context of ensuring durable peace in the South Caucasus, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the need to sign a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the importance of valuable approaches of partners interested in real stability in the region.
