As a result of the Russian strike that targeted Kharkiv’s densely populated area Saturday afternoon, civilian deaths and injuries were reported.
That’s according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, who broke the news via Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"There are dead and wounded. A residential building was hit," Ihor Terekhov wrote initially after the strike was confirmed.
Later, the mayor clarified that at least two civilians were killed and 18 – injured as the Russians hit an apartment block.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the emergency service refuted a report of an explosion at a Kyiv-based combined heat and power plant on Saturday.
