The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan responded to the statement of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Josep Borrell.
Referring to the question of the MEPs regarding the condition of the detainees from Nagorno-Karabakh, Borrell noted that the EU calls on Azerbaijan to observe the proper legal procedure, the basic principles of the protection of the detainees and ensure transparency.
Baku called that statement 'false and inflammatory allegations'. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan assured that all detained Armenian prisoners of war and civilians are treated in accordance with the requirements of the Geneva Conventions of 1949.
