Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Malta to the Republic of Armenia Giovanni Miceli (residence in Valletta) presented his credentials to the President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan.
Congratulating the newly appointed Ambassador, the President wished him success in his new position. "We highly appreciate our relationship. Last year we celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations. At the same time, the history of our relationship has a longstanding past, and in the present, we continue to maintain and develop our cordial relationship. I am confident that Your appointment will contribute to further expansion and deepening of our relations," President Khachaturyan said
Ambassador Giovanni Miceli, thanking for the reception, specifically noted: "Our relations are developing excellently. I will do my best to expand cooperation between Malta and Armenia."
During the meeting, issues related to the promotion of effective cooperation on both bilateral and international platforms were discussed.
A reference was made to the perspectives and opportunities for promoting interaction in the political, economic, cultural and tourist spheres.
The sides exchanged views on regional realities and developments. In this context, President Vahagn Khachaturyan reaffirmed Armenia's unequivocal position on achieving lasting peace based on the fundamental principles of the territorial integrity of the countries, sovereignty and good neighborliness with neighbors.
