On June 18, the Armenian National Assembly President Alen Simonyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Armenia Viktor Richter. The Ambassador completes his diplomatic mission in Armenia, Armenian Parliament’s press service reports.
The Head of Parliament thanked the Ambassador for the efforts made in the development of Armenia-Germany and Armenia-EU relations and underscored the importance of stable development of interaction.
“The parliamentary multi-layer cooperation and the deputies’ active mutual visits, the availability of the Friendship Groups in parliaments are speechless testimony of high level dialogue between our countries,” the NA President noted.
Viktor Richter highly appreciated the collaboration established between the two countries and underlined that inter-parliamentary contacts have key role in deepening the relationship.
The interlocutors discussed the security situation in the South Caucasus and the procedure of the normalisation of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.
Viktor Richter reaffirmed the commitment of the Federal Republic of Germany to support the support of the negotiations on the peace.
“The ongoing reforms in the Republic of Armenia and the establishment of peace in the South Caucasus are of political priority,” the Ambassador noted.
Ideas were exchanged on the perspectives of expanding of Armenia-Germany cooperation and the current programmes. The interaction was highlighted in the cultural, educational, economic and energy spheres.
