On June 18, the Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly Sargis Khandanyan met with the Under-Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Andžejs Viļumsons.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia to Armenia Edite Medne (Residence: Tbilisi) attended the meeting.
Welcoming the guests, Sargis Khandanyan underscored that in recent years the inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries activated: the bilateral high ranking mutual visits promote it. The Committee Chair highlighted the interaction with Latvia also in the format of Armenia-European Union relations.
During the meeting Sargis Khandanyan presented to the guests the security situation in the region, touched upon the negotiations on the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, spoke about the Crossroads of Peace project initiated by the RA Government.
The interlocutors exchanged ideas on the development of cooperation in the spheres of trade, economy and tourism.
