At a difficult moment, Russia came to the aid of the people of Armenia and restored the railway communication with Georgia destroyed by the natural disaster in a record short time, stated the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexey Overchuk.
"Russian specialists personally worked around the clock with their Armenian colleagues in the direction of restoring the railway section damaged by the natural disaster. The financing of the disaster rehabilitation work was carried out by the Russian Federation, according to the decision of the country's leadership," said Overchuk.
He informed that the first test train set off on June 14, a week earlier than expected.
