In the aftermath of the devastating flooding in the Lori and Tavush regions of Armenia and following a request from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, the UN Country Team, under UNDP in Armenia's technical lead, conducted a Multi-Sectoral Rapid Needs Assessment (MIRA). It aimed at making an initial and rapid assessment of the disaster impact, damage and humanitarian needs.
The preliminary results of MIRA were reviewed with key national counterparts and, subsequently, the MIRA report was finalized.
Օn 13 June, the key results and recommendations of MIRA were presented to the government counterparts and the donor community.
Francoise Jacob, UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia, Armen Mkrtchyan, Head of the Department of Strategic Planning, Policy Development and Monitoring of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Natia Natsvlishvili, UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia, gave opening remarks at the event.
UNDP Expert Krunoslav Katic presented the MIRA findings.
