Arnaud, a banking consultant, faced a five-year jail term on national security charges following his arrest while traveling through Iran during 2022 protests. His family emphasized his non-involvement in political activities or the social unrest. In a post on social media X, the French president also thanked the Omani authorities for their assistance in the matter.
