Belarus is not going to ruin relations with Armenia, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anatoly Glaz told reporters, Belarussian BelTA state agency reports.
“It is important to keep in mind that Belarus and Armenia have long-standing, close, friendly relations and a common history, as well as mutually beneficial trade and close business contacts. We are not going to ruin these relations, no matter how hard the Armenian leadership is pushed to do so by external players. We have never done anything that would harm our friends, we do not interfere in internal affairs, we respect the Armenian people”, Glaz remarked.
Earlier Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a Governmental Q&A session with the parliament: "I record that I will never visit Belarus, because Alexander Lukashenko is the president there. I declare that at this moment none of the official representatives of Armenia will visit Belarus at all". He then continued: "One of the leaders of the CSTO declares that he participated in the preparation of the 44-day war, inspired, believed and wished for the victory of Azerbaijan. After that, should I go and sit down with Lukashenko in the CSTO format and discuss the any issue?"
