Georgian Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, Georgian Public Broadcaster reports.
According to the Ministry’s press office, Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov hosted his Georgian colleague to discuss defense cooperation and security issues in the region.
The duo focused on a peaceful neighborhood initiative offered by Georgia, seeking to foster the peace process in the region as well as intensive bilateral cooperation.
As Irakli Chikovani noted, the extensive knowledge gained over the years helps the growth of defense forces in both Azerbaijan and Georgia.
The meeting also covered the Azerbaijan-Turkey-Georgia trilateral cooperation format “which is an important unified regional platform for discussing various issues.”
