Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler emphasized Turkey's firm stance on the situation in Syria during a discussion with journalists. Guler stated: "We may consider withdrawal once our border security is ensured."
According to him, Turkey used to have three anti-terrorist brigades, and now it has 20, and now it is carrying out long-term and large-scale operations.
Guler also mentioned the conditions for the withdrawal of the Turkish armed forces from Syria.
"Our goal is to reach a political solution in Syria based on UN Security Council Resolution 2254. We are ready to provide possible support for the adoption of the Constitution for all Syrian residents, free elections, comprehensive regulation and security," Guler said.
According to the head of the Turkish Ministry of Defense, Ankara will be able to consider the possibility of withdrawing troops only after all these points are implemented and the security of Turkey's borders is fully ensured.
