Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited Alaverdi and Tashir communities of Lori region to get acquainted with the situation caused by the flooding of rivers.
The Head of the Operational Staff established by the decision of the Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan, Governor of Lori Aram Ghazaryan, Director of Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kamo Tsutsulyan reported on the progress of the works, as well as the process of providing first aid to the affected population. It was noted that in order to eliminate the consequences of the disaster, the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Road Department, the Police, regional administrations, local self-government bodies, and other relevant structures are implementing the necessary measures arising from their powers.
Nikol Pashinyan instructed to evaluate the urgent needs of the disaster-affected residents in a short period of time, promptly allocate the necessary aid, carry out an inventory of damagesafter which the programs aimed at eliminating the consequences of the disaster will be discussed.
The Prime Minister also talked to the residents affected by the floods, stressing that all their problems are in the center of the government's attention.
Next, Nikol Pashinyan visited Tavush region, got acquainted with the damage caused by floods in the Dilijan-Ijevan section of the Armenia-Georgia interstate road. It was reported that urgent construction works are being carried out here in order to ensure trafficability.
