The American administration is against the recognition of the State of Palestine without reaching an appropriate agreement with Israel. This was reported by CNN on Wednesday, citing the representative of the US National Security Council.
"The President is sure that the State of Palestine should be established through direct negotiations between the parties, and not through unilateral recognition," said the source of the TV channel.
The council's representative emphasized at the same time that Biden "supports the idea of creating two states and has done so throughout his career."
Currently, the State of Palestine has been recognized by 140 countries, but the three permanent members of the UN Security Council, the United States, Great Britain and France, are not among them.
By the way, during the meeting with Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz, French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné said: "Recognition of Palestine is not a taboo for Paris. However, we believe that there are no conditions for making that decision now."
