Luxembourg is committed to supporting the EU mission in Armenia and is ready to further develop this mission within the framework of the interests of both sides, Claude Wiseler, President of the Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies, stated after a joint press conference with Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan.
"We stand again behind the new EU cooperation program, which aims to develop cooperation in all aspects. We promise that the EU will actively continue to play the role of a mediator between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the region so that the peace process can come to a successful conclusion. I deeply hope that the peace negotiations will succeed," he said.
Claude Wiseler also emphasized that before lasting peace is achieved, it is crucial to create an environment where open, honest and constructive dialogue can develop.
"Let's do all we can to remove obstacles. Therefore, we urgently demand that Baku immediately release all prisoners of war and provide comprehensive information on missing persons. Justice and humanity demand that these individuals be freed without delay, and it is a demand that the families get the answers they simply deserve," he said.
Applause erupted in the hall.
