In connection with the death of the President of Iran and his accompanying group as a result of the helicopter accident, the cabinet of ministers of the country made a statement today after an extraordinary session, reports IRNA. The announcement states:
"We assure our faithful, honest and beloved people that the path of glorious service and dedication inspired by the tireless spirit of Ayatollah Raisi, the hero and servant of the people, faithful companion of the leader, will continue. With the help of Almighty Allah and the support of generous people, the administration of the country will not suffer."
Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber will temporarily take over the duties of President Ebrahim Raisi, who was killed in a helicopter crash Sunday evening, ISNA News Agency reports Monday.
According to the constitution of Iran, Mokhber will carry out these duties for 50 days, until the new presidential elections.
The elections could be held in June or July, and they must be held by the special council consisting of three people.
Also, the Iranian government has assured that it will work without disruptions, added Press TV.
